🚨NEW: As the clock ticks down to a markup of the Clarity Act in the Senate Banking Committee, the North Carolina Bankers Association (a state trade group) has been urging member banks to call into @SenThomTillis’s office to weigh in on the stablecoin yield debate. Per an email shared with me by an employee at a small Wilmington-based bank, circulated by leadership this week on behalf of @NCBankers, the current compromise stablecoin yield text “does not accomplish the goal” of mitigating deposit flight to stablecoins. It then encourages employees to call Tillis’s office using the following pre-written message: “The CLARITY (sic) Act must include an airtight prohibition on payments for stablecoins acting as a store of value by clearly barring any interest or yield-like payments tied to the holding, retention, or balance of payment stablecoins — without carve-outs that can be met through nominal activity or loyalty programs.” The email adds that employees don’t need to answer questions or defend their positions. “Simply state your message and you’ll be thanked for your call. It’s that easy.” The development tracks with recent reports that banks are growing increasingly restless with the current stablecoin yield compromise and are making a last-minute push for changes.

#BREAKING Ilhan Omar says she accidentally claimed to have $30 million in assets on her financial disclosure form, and quietly amends her disclosure by tens of millions in financial flip flop that critics say conveniently happened as investigations ramp up.
The Democrat representative in Minnesota blames an 'accounting error' after her sudden jump in wealth was made public and prompted President Donald Trump to demand answers.
Omar's spike in wealth happened at the same time at the peak of the massive welfare fraud in her district, where her fellow Somali migrant community members stole between $9 and $18 billion from American taxpayers.
But now that Omar is facing investigations from House republicans, she claims she's not a multi-millionaire after all saying there were accounting errors in her congressional financial disclosures.
Her amendments come an entire year after the financial disclosures were submitted and an entire year after the information went public.
The original disclosure filed last year showed Omar and her husband Tim Mynett’s assets skyrocketing, (going from $5,000 to $30 million) prompting Republicans to question how a career politician and her political consultant husband could have such explosive wealth growth in such a short time.
In a conveniently amended filing the couple’s reported assets have now been slashed to $18,004 to $95,000.
The forms only require broad ranges, not precise numbers, giving plenty of room for “errors” that reduce her net worth by tens of millions.
Omar’s husband, Tim Mynett is involved in a venture capital firm in Washington, D.C., and a (non-operational) winery in Santa Rosa, California.
Those businesses were originally valued at next to nothing, then up to $30 million in last year's filing but are now listed as having zero net value in the revised version.
Critics point out that one of the businesses reportedly distributed over $200,000 to Mynett in 2024 alone.
Omar denies any involvement in the massive Somali migrant welfare fraud in her districts and claims the investigations are racists and politically motivated.
However, critics say the oddly timed correction also needs to be investigated.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and others are already demanding records related to Mynett’s businesses to see if there is any connection between the reported wealth and the fraud schemes that are still under active investigation.
Omar is under investigation for her ties to the welfare fraud, immigration fraud and her sudden jump in wealth

Police arrested Bryan Rafael Gomez, a criminal illegal alien from the Dominican Republic, April 4 in Worcester, Mass., for domestic abuse. ICE arrested him upon his release from jail in Worcester that same day.
A background check revealed Dominican Republic authorities issued a criminal arrest warrant against him for homicide in 2023.
He’ll stay in ICE custody pending removal proceedings.
