@corsaren i do think the inability of the US navy to break a naval blockade is a potentially mask off moment for US hegemony. smells like the spanish armada in the spanish-american war realizing previous spending means shit when the tech has moved past

rare politics tweet but given this is out of consensus i want to go on record as not only supporting the strikes from day 1 but still supporting them. Iran had to be dealt with eventually and regime change would be a big blow not only to Chyna but to global terrorism

@RogerThisdell @nopranablem @bryan_johnson about 3 of the ~40 people I've introduced the substance to have had significant negative somatic experiences (intense stomach pain, unable to ground, high body load). the rest have been neutral (uncommon) to highly positive. This is at ~0.5mg to 1mg.

Funny, I found really low doses very physically unpleasant. Like it just introduced energy into the system that couldn't ground itself and it also wasn't enough to do anything with, and it lasted for hours. It also made my tinnitus worse. I've heard a few other people report this. It's seems with 5 getting over a 3mg hump is at least better than sub 3mg - in my experience. Have you found this?

@_brentbaum the fiddly part would be ensuring everything is separated by entry, titled and dated correctly, and links are found (links are in red pen in the format '→ pg. 104' or '→ book 7 pg. 104')

here is the primary exocortex i have been using since 2022. i need to scan it again. a yearly ritual. i suspect however there exists no ocr model which can read my handwriting or interpret my diagrams, so it may forever remain partially analog-bound

@cube_flipper haha. yeah. gets you 90% of the way there. just finished my little prototype. having codex take gemini's output and format it as a human-consumable markdown file is cheap ($.01/page) and delightfully accurate

my nervous system likes working with codex much better. less back and forth, less immediacy, still roughly the same time of task completion. I still hang w/ claude code to discover requirements.

@_brentbaum yes. but knowing to point it at those problems is part of knowing how to use the tools. and then once you've made the underlying tools much better with verified rewrites, the task built on them is easier because it becomes more verifiable

this guy has claude mania but the code all works. he's doing person decades, possibly person-centuries per month what he's aiming for with glibc_rust, and that he might pull it off, solo, in like a month, while also rewriting sqlite and a js engine and like 20 other libs... using these tools to their full potential is mind boggling
Jeffrey Emanuel@doodlestein

Plus: 1) A next-level safe version of SQLite that natively supports multiple concurrent writers using a similar approach to what Postgres uses (this is like 2-3 days from completion already). FrankenSQLite. 2) a from-scratch, radically innovative and safe JS engine and node/bun replacement. FrankenEngine and FrankenNode. 3) next level safe rust versions of Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, NetworkX, Jax, and Pytorch. Faster, better, and all memory safe. Franken. 4) Same for Redis, Whisper, and Mermaid. 5) FrankenCode (haven’t started this yet but it will merge my Rust version of Pi Agent, which is already done, with Codex and my new FrankenEngine and FrankenNode) to make the best, most extensible, and SAFEST agent harness in the world, with the best interface via my FrankenTUI library, which is the best and fastest TUI library in the world now. 6) All of this will flow into FrankenTerm, which is an unholy mixture in Rust of WezTerm, Ghostty, Rio, Zellij, and a ton of my other projects (like process_triage, storage_balast_helper, vibe_cockpit, etc) to make the very best cross-platform terminal emulator with integrated multiplexer that’s designed from the ground up to withstand the extreme demands of multi-day sessions involving hundreds of separate agents.
