@bufferhead_ @MichaelThiessen @vuejs I tend to agree - I discourage this kind of thing at my work. A menu might seem simple at first but what if I want to support icons, sub menus, notification badges, maybe show or hide some items based on user roles? This abstraction is quickly going to become a hindrance.

@MichaelThiessen @vuejs I think this just makes it harder to understand what's going on without any benefit. especially when config options start to pile up. i refactored quite a few things away from this "config"-approach because it gets messy.

One trick I like to simplify my templates in @vuejs is making them configuration-driven. Instead of writing a template that repeats itself like this:
