The oil craziness over the last week made something that was already obvious even more egregious. Fintwit and CT are something else. Countless grown adults who have traded and invested successfully for their entire careers, being told daily by anonymous accounts that they have no idea what they are doing. Pros criticized by people who have been trading for eighteen months. That is not a typo. Imagine Derek Jeter getting lectured on hitting by a kid who just made JV.

Just a PSA if ur trading on HL and unclear about which oil to long I would recommend the Brent contract Based off oil that comes to market in European ship yards or smth - directly effected by hormuz shock CL tracks wti which comes out of Oklahoma and is the price for the US market - Trump clearly has more incentive to attempt to subdue this price, he has procedural levers to pull which help him to do so, and the price is also being effected by these SPR releases/swaps Furthermore, longing Brent-wti spread will likely be profitable as long as this conflict endures

@0xMerp Yea the spread looks aggressive initially but will mean revert. Again it depends on the trading style, if people are just looking to jump on the oil trade now, blindly without using TA then the safer entry is arguably on WTI
