As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding. Like the Roman, I seem to see the River Tiber foaming with much blood. 🍁🇬🇧🇿🇦

This is what an ordinary German factory worker can get at his employer provided cafeteria for 8 Euros: Breaded veal, veggies, french fries and mashed potatoes, a dessert and a soft drink. Anywhere in the USA, this same exact meal will cost you 30, maybe 40 with tip. So no, don't listen to conservatives, they are paid to gaslight you to protect Trump and the GOP. The American economy is structured to maximize shareholder profits at the expense of everything and everyone. That is not how economies work in normal first or second world countries, where there is much more balance between capital and labor.

So Southampton have been kicked out of the playoff final (and a shot at a £200mm payday) because they filmed a rival teams training session. But Celtic have received zero penalty for a home pitch invasion before the final whistle? And it’s what… four pitch invasions this year?

I’m about to eat my PB&J on the subway because I ran out of time to go to the gym earlier. And ya I do have a reusable bag. Poors of the world unite!

@Ohmsx @PGATUOR This is how I would define “good at golf.” Unfortunately, my peer group all play around scratch, so even if I shoot 90 I still look like am asshole.

@PGATUOR It's a personal thing, but If you can regularly beat bogey golf by a few strokes- I'm okay with you calling yourself good. You see a lot of players work really hard to get there- from shooting 120s to breaking 90- it's quite the accomplishment!

Almost unbelievable forecast from tonight’s European model it has trended hotter. We see 32C/90F daily between this Sunday and next Tuesday in London area. Hard to believe we just experienced coolest mid May period in 15 years and now we look to see a historic heatwave. The change is violent.

The most practical move is for the federal government to stop backing student loans. That would kill most of the market, except for a select few with wealthy co-signers, or those who are pursuing a profitable degree. If NGOs want to co-sign for low-income students, so be it.

But for student credit I agree with the model. It should be much harder to get an unsecured student loan. You should need to think long and hard about how you’re going to repay ~$50k or ~$100k with your degree. And if you can’t make that math work, you shouldn’t do it.

My most “left-wing” opinion is agreeing with student loans being insane. I’ve talked about laws making credit inaccessible for poors. I was against Trump mandating low interest rates for credit cards, because it would cut out a lot of low-income families from credit.
MatrixMysteries@MatrixMysteries

An American checks her student loans. She borrowed $49,548.74. After 120 payments, she’s paid $25,558.36. Her current balance? $50,121.33. After PAYING $25k… she now owes MORE than she originally borrowed. This isn’t aid — it’s legalized USURY.

@SeanMcCarthyCom The “goycattle.” Men have been bringing a lunch to work for thousands of years. I work in the most overpaid industry on the planet. I used to buy a sandwich everyday until I realized even my bosses boss brought a container of leftovers so he could work through lunch. Grow up.

@BebeGeant66 @nationalpost Ya. They were “Rock ‘em Sock ‘em” up to video 9, and then just “Don Cherry + number” after that. I don’t think he ever intended to be respectful. He was who he was - a Canadian who represented what Canada used to be, and was supposed to be. And that’s why you don’t like him.

@BlakeAnselmo @jdleggcan @TheSnowDreamer Nah. Those temperatures have always happened. Even in England. The graphics are now used to reflect political opinions. I can tell by your red rose and red flag that you support mass disinformation campaigns in order to pursue your goal of destroying everything, so just go away.

@BebeGeant66 @nationalpost Fair. I think that despite apparent shortcomings in some areas, including refusing to learn how to pronounce non-anglo names, he did a lot for hockey and for this country. Probably a lot more than many/most recent recipients of that honour. And it wasn’t just “fight vids.”

@_coolredacted @nationalpost He didn’t take the time to learn all of the players names. Loved his fight vids but if you’re being paid to talk about the players then you should at least learn how to fucking pronounce their name. That’s the only reason like I said I liked his videos but no

@jdleggcan @TheSnowDreamer It’s a bit above seasonal average. For a few days. Doesn’t mean the country is about to melt into a boiling North Sea. The graphics are a scare tactic. It’s well documented that news/weather agencies are using “scary” colours to report weather that is normal but unseasonable.
