Why did we pivot Staxel from robotic stores to interactive ad displays?
This is a question I have been asked many times recently.
The answer is in the photos below.
Designing the 2nd-gen robo-store was about breaking as many rules as possible.
Making a full-size frontal glass was one such decision.
But why not turn the glass into a giant advertising screen?
[ -- ruminating -- winning hackathons -- watching sci-fi movies -- ]
Wait, why not control the screen using hand gestures?
Btw, you can still buy products from the Staxel display. We park a physical delivery for now in favor of a more scalable, ad-shopping direction. But this is still kinda store.
