@SecretCFO We’ve found this to be a massive red flag when we get ready to take over a customer’s books. Typically leads to a review process, which we will be automating in the near future, to reconcile GL data against our bank feed via Plaid. Once finalized, this will be game changing.

@JStaatsCPA Jason, I thought you had all the answers :( Only joking. I agree — hope institutions develop functionality that solves this problem someday. Third party solutions, that don’t directly sit in an existing platform (bank, acc’ng, etc.), only create a worse UX imo.

@JStaatsCPA 2/2 However, I would argue that solution isn’t optimal for SMBs and their respective stakeholders. Would love to hear your thoughts / solution.

@JStaatsCPA 1/2 Exactly. More concerned about the former than the latter, given the inability to trace the source or recipient for creation of an appropriate journal entry. I’d also include physical checks. Example of a solution is Cash App -> Plaid to ingest underlying description.
