@getjonwithit I was in the mental move of dismissing this thread (for verbosity ironically), but tying verbosity to error correction pulls on a rich little internal thread

I can't believe how much joy I still get from an afternoon spent whiteboarding this out in (2019)

using discrete time analysis, scientists have discovered that there are at least 24 categories in fun space
new dimensions of fun await discovery

we all know type 1 and 2 fun but what about the hidden type 3 fun when an event was not fun in the moment NOR in hindsight but it's fun to tell ppl about it and see their reactions

@selflathing thank you
and thank you for the prompt, it's clearly good at bringing up unprocessed material 😅
English

@selflathing mostly too many other people with their own charge. I've definitely triggered a weird three way fight with a friend defending me from his girlfriend by unpacking similar feelings in that sort of container
English

@selflathing also went to an event once where they literally quoted wikipedia and I get that they were passing through but if you have no connection to the land or the "real people" then what are we doing?
English

@selflathing yeah, there's compassion too and curiosity but it's tangled up and I want to move already and the containers in which land acknowledgements are happening don't feel like safe places to unpack any of it
English

@selflathing (and one choctaw great great grandma but no actual connection to the tribe)
English

@selflathing ancestors:
- scots who came to Canada to manage ranches and save enough to buy their own (lost by debt, parts regained a generation later)
- okies that fled the dust bowl
- colonial governor who seemed to be in it for the chance to find new orchids
rootless and rooted
