If you've ever been to a community writing group and had to listen to a 60 year old woman talk about her memoir of rape and childhood abuse you'll realize some of the worst writing is a byproduct of trauma. People mistake pain for profundity all the time, and write these tragedy porn pieces that convey nothing but "I suffered."

the third man was good, but unfortunately at the time they shot it, vienna had recently been destroyed by war - would love to see the movie with the city properly put together.
