It is with a deep sense of utter joy and unreserved happiness that I can finally say: I am Catholic!! 🎉 Tonight I was baptised in the ancient church in the beautiful liturgy of the Easter Vigil. I love you Jesus Christ, for having mercy on me and calling me home.

It has already begun. Children’s drawings could be blasphemous under Islamic law, say Labour councils in the north of England. Guidance issued to teachers by Labour councils warns that images made by pupils in art lessons could be seen as “idolatrous” under sharia law. The advice also warns that music and dance classes could be contrary to the teachings of Islam. Teachers have been advised in the guidance titled “Sharing the Journey” that “for some Muslim parents, sensitivities may exist in connection with the teaching of aspects of art, dance, drama, music, physical education, religious education and RSHE.” It goes on to say: “It is very important that the school understands this and is also careful not to ask its students to reproduce images of Jesus, the Prophet Mohammed or other figures considered to be prophets in Islam. Some Muslim pupils may not wish to draw the human figure.” On top of this ridiculous and censorious guidance, the Government this week announced its official definition of “anti-Muslim hostility” — effectively a Muslim blasphemy law. In a free society, no religion should be shielded from legitimate criticism and challenge — let alone by children. This is sick and sinister. Read more below 👇

All thanks be to God it's my 38th birthday today and almost a year since I was received into the Catholic Church. It has been the richest most enjoyable year of my life, without a doubt!

Please pray for me. I have been violently ill overnight with gastroenteritis. Feeling a tiny bit better but prayers from my brothers and sisters would be appreciated.

I'm 35, been to church all my life, I've played the organ and conducted the choir since 16, and am the youngest in my congregation. It can get very isolating living in a rural parish.

@NRNCatholic Beautiful! I joined the March for Life UK last year and there were several of these banners. I think they are magnificent.

A beautifully restored and cleaned banner in anticipation of the May Procession. Hard to believe it was left to collect dust and mould in a choir loft. I mean, who actually thought ‘yeah, this is too old school, dump it up in the choir loft’ ? Mental. Glad it’s back!

This is my first Lent as a Catholic and I am LOVING IT! I've given up my biggest internet addiction, Reddit, and turning my efforts to language learning once again. I am trying to do something I swore I could never achieve when I was younger - learn French.

@NRNCatholic ...diminish that tendency to start moaning or be impatient. The fasting helps me slow down and have more grace towards other people. I think being patient is a lot like training a muscle, it takes a lot of training to be perfectly patient!

@NRNCatholic I can be like this sometimes. I've learnt to try and better regulate myself and not emulate my father who I clearly inherited this from and has an extremely short temper. Otherwise, I always pray to be more patient. I find that fasting in Lent so far has really helped 1/2

Does anybody else suffer with short patience, short fuse, anger and being a bit of a moaner? I don't have any diagnosed mental health issues but its one of the things I hate the most about myself. Its a mood killer! Any spiritual advice and tips?!
