The level of corny, cheesy, almost out-of-nowhere physical comedy in this scene is what really pulled me out of the film. Don’t tell me this is Miranda’s character development 20 years in the making: this feels like cheap, made-for-laughs writing and directing choice that ultimately undermines her once-poised persona.
