@JordanGilroy Basic plan should have at least one cms collection. If that so, most of my clients would require the basic plan.

I’d love to see some metrics on how many users are saving money with that change vs how many are paying more. Personally speaking, only one of my client will save money because they upgraded to the business plan just to get the file upload feature. All the rest lose.

@krealdesign This ☝🏻 since all the talk about ai here, ai there, ai taking our jobs, I had the busiest start of the year. Project after project after project.

Had an hour-long coffee chat with a 7-figure web design & SEO agency from Sydney today. We talked collaboration opportunities, design in general, and most importantly - AI, and whether it affects their business, or if they use it. I was not surprised hearing their take on it, but hopefully sharing it can helps you see the picture clearer. First thing they answered with when I asked if AI disrupts their SEO/web workflow was a wide smile :) Then they followed through with this: - "We've got a ton of new inquiries over the last few months just from people who did their copy & SEO with AI. Now they came to us to fix it because they broke even what was already working". - "We hear a lot of talks on AI on local networking events, and it almost feels like even big guys do their talks like they have to, not because they believe it. And most of times, whatever they say about it helping their business - is simply not true after having a look at their website" I could see in their eyes they could not care less about AI - it did feel like a gimmick to them. And I was truly happy to see it and get my concerns confirmed. These guys write human-thought copy, no AI involved. They design and build by hand. And the killer part - it's not that much of a custom work. It's oldschool, wordpress based, brick-and-mortar business websites. While your average tech enthusiast makes a living sharing online how we're all fucked, and how the game has changed with AI (most often having zero stuff to back it with) - there are real people, making real stuff, for real businesses - for a damn good money, and having a good time. Don't get yourself boxed into a bubble. And enjoy the craft.

@_laurolteanu Thanks man its shaping up well for now! I still feel an uncertainty but bet it'll get clearer and clearer further this year.

Last year I was mainly doing web design. Charging $2-4K for a landing page. Then I pivoted into branding-first. Scared I would have no clients. Yet it’s a different ball game now. Already got an easy “yes” to two $8K projects, and one at $5K. It’s going to be fun.

@imRazvanBadea Move to wise this year for the exact same reason. Payed a lot in stripe fees.

just realized I probably bled over $2-3k on payment processing fees that could've been avoided $1k from Stripe fees alone the rest from Swift transfers I never bothered to optimize all of it preventable with something as simple as Wise dont make the same mistakes as I did. most agencies and freelancers don't even look at this they obsess over raising prices or landing bigger clients while leaving 2-4% of their revenue on the table through fees caring about payment processing isn't being cheap small optimizations compound $3k could've been reinvested into better tools, marketing, or just saved for when things get slow instead it went to banks and payment processors if you're not auditing where your money actually goes, you're probably losing more than you think

I was invited today to share my experience as a brand designer and freelancer, and to walk first-year Design faculty students through my visual identity process behind the scenes. It’s the same faculty I was supposed to graduate from 8 years ago, but I dropped out. What an ironic full-circle moment.

Since Crimson Desert set the bar very high for AAA video game this year, I start to feel nothing even come close to that scale of polish. Maybe GTA VI will surpass it. But until then, still one of the best games this year.
