Unpopular opinion: I don’t care if most web apps look the same. All I care about is whether it does what it says and does it fast. Make it fast. Make the UX obvious. Put the right things in the right place and little to no animations.

@lukakrc One of my recent clients literally asked me to make the design uglier after the first iteration. Now it’s really ugly to me and probably won’t get likes if I post it, but I still will because this is real life and real work.

@oykun @discord Yeah, for communities, and some clients in the past were using discord instead of slack. It is too gamefied for my taste, but it works really well actually.
