My thoughts on the Canadian government removing GST from rental housing: First, finally. To clarify, when we built a $100m apartment building, we had to cut the government a check for around 5% of the value when it was done. Unrecoverable. It was cost, just like concrete or windows. This moves the needle on so many projects across Canada. This will get rental housing built! My fear: Canada does not have enough labour and has a massive shortage of trades. Those that can build right away will capitalize on this program but I’m very worried that within 12 months land and construction costs will have increased so fast, that they will eat up all of this GST savings. We simply don’t have enough trades. We need more. So, If you have a skill, start a trade business. Your tailwinds in Canada are big. If you’re young, go to trade school. Become a trade. 6 figure salary almost instantly. Let’s support and herald our trades!

@hubermanlab I live near the ocean where temps are routinely 7-17C. I have always noticed the 20 mins of euphoria I experience afterwards but have never seen it backed up so thanks for this. Q - is this mitigated if I go in hot tub afterwards?

The catecholamine (dopamine, epinephrine, etc.) increasing effects of deliberate cold exposure are significant & long lasting (hours) & can be achieved with: Brief (1-3min) exposure at very cold temperatures (35-45F) or, Long (30-60min) exposure at more moderate (60F) temps.

@CP24 I’m a millennial, married, on our 2nd home, no help from parents, no degrees,bad credit, average salaries at the time of purchases, saved for 5 years. How you ask? we were responsible with our money, one big trip a year, ate out only a couple times a month. It wasn’t that hard.

I watched The Swimmers on Netflix last night & it was incredible. It's a true story about 2 sisters (Yusra & Sara Mardini) who escaped the war in Syria by swimming for hours across the Mediterranean to Greece — and how they eventually made it to the Olympics. Highly recommend!
