Dulles is an architectural masterpiece with a new metro station. It really needs to finish its own rail system and ditch the mobile lounges and replace the C/D concourses, but it doesn’t need the country’s biggest parking garage.

DDOT has chosen a concept for the Columbia Heights Crosstown bus priority project: app.box.com/s/c045btuyxrdm… They've selected curbside bus lanes throughout the corridor, except for offset lanes on Irving (14th to 11th St only). My thoughts below:

FAQ of the week: “What's up with the brown water in the Meridian Hill/Malcolm X Park fountain?” ➡️ NPS repaired and turned on the two fountains on the upper plaza (by Joan of Arc/drum circle) for the first time in many, many years ➡️ NPS has described this as a “miracle” and really it is fantastic to see ➡️ This began to flush rust and sediment out of those long-dormant pipes ➡️ Those two fountains are connected to the big cascading fountain, so the rusty water is flowing through the entire system ➡️ NPS’s contractor has been working to clear the water & they’re hopeful that will be complete today-ish @PoPville @SamDelgadoDC

NEW: We defeated a lawsuit seeking to block new housing on upper Connecticut Avenue NW. The lawsuit challenged zoning changes to allow multifamily housing in the neighborhood with the fewest affordable units. We’re fighting for more homes to drive down costs for everyone in DC.

I just called @aparnafordc to congratulate her & to make plans to put our heads together on pressing priorities for our ward! We both know that DC gov needs to show up better for Ward 1. I’m so proud to have championed our neighbors in this race & to finally see RCV in action! 🩵
