Actually, Asteroid was never designed to be donated to Liv's mom @rebeccaperrotto .
Asteroid was created to help the children with cancer at @StJude. Once you notice this, everything becomes very clear.
When you purchase an Asteroid plush on the @SpaceX or @PolarisProgram website, the $25 goes directly as a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. This was Liv’s request.
You can check the purchase screenshot on the website. It clearly states: “At her request, proceeds from the sale of Asteroid will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.”
The Polaris Program also explicitly states this here:

Liv’s wish was to help children who are fighting cancer just like she was. She often gave them encouragement.
Another vision behind Asteroid is that Liv hoped every child who sees it would be brave enough to chase their dreams, just like her.
Even while battling illness, she wanted to become the first child to go to space.
Everything revolves around St. Jude. That’s why eth donated tokens to St. Jude Hospital at the time.
So when St. Jude sold the 2.1 billion tokens we donated in 2024, that money will be used to treat children with cancer and support research. We have fulfilled Liv’s wish.
This mission will now be carried forward by everyone in the Crypto world. Just as @VitalikButerin said, the greatest thing about memecoins is their ability to bring positive value to the world.
