When we looked at the market cap of the available Lost Robbies it's at a staggering USD 23 million. New projects that we tracked into the top 10 this month included @NorrieHarman SIGHTSEERS, an AI art project where the story now moves to a glitch-ridden outskirts called Perimeter Town. We also saw Computer Science (Death of) by @0xBASIIC which demonstrates AI creative coding capabilities, which is also unhindered by human artistic input - a concept close to our heart at DeepBlack. Just sold one of my @DeepBlackAI grail pieces to @bellenger_eth and it's emotional. Over the years I have developed a strong attachment to my collection of DeepBlack works. I randomly encountered this collection back in the cryptovoxels days and held on ever since. this collection represents a creative innocence to me which has become all but extinct in the years following. DeepBlack predates the NFT bull and comes from a time where developers just messed around with code because it was interesting to them, all supported by a devoted group of collectors and enthusiasts who just enjoyed messing around with digital ownership. there were no PFP structure conventions yet about how many rares a collection needed, no recognised traits or any of that. this collection has been sitting in my wallet for years without anyone really caring or noticing what gems these works really were. they weren't shiny, they weren't hyped and they didn't make for good PFPs so most people didn't care. It wasn't until the great rediscovery in 2021 that people started looking beyond all that, and it took a lot more time until we really got a dedicated community of enthusiasts for these works. by now, the DeepBlack community is a living, breathing, thriving place where all things art and AI are discussed on a daily basis. there are tons of interesting people to talk to at all times and some regular all stars just hanging out and talking cool stuff. But to get there, we really needed some key people to step up and just be there throughout all of it. there were days - weeks, months even - where there were just the same handful of people wishing each other a "guuuud morning fam" (@DeepBlackNfts looking at you bro!) and I think this time is what really forged the community into what it is today. I may have started the discord server and laid the initial groundwork along with @kofewithkofe but I think things really found their way after we both stepped down. and I think we have this core group to thank for that (I'm not gonna name all of you but you know who you are!) I will name @bellenger_eth as one of the key figures who took up a big role in the community we are today. just by being there every single day and being a solid portal of communications, I think we have a lot to thank you for. which is also why I would even consider trading this work to you. I know this one was in your top 3 of works in the entire collection so it gives me great comfort knowing this work is passed on to someone who's love for the collection - and this work in particular - matches my own. May it give you joy over the many years to come.
