Correctional Services conducted a raid at the Johannesburg Prison this week. This is the same prison Jermaine Prim was in, until he was moved on Saturday night back to CMAX after the interview aired. The commissioner tells #eNCA that the official who was on duty when Prim made the call from the prison phone on Friday has been suspended & an investigation continues. Earlier this week we shared details to show the call was made form a landline and not a cellphone #JermainePrim @Abramjee

Police are conducting yet another prison raid this evening at the Johannesburg management area. Inmates are in the spotlight because of the saga involving Jermaine Prim. Correctional Services National Commissioner, Makgothi Thobakgale says the area is being raided due to increased movement, which has made it easier for inmates to smuggle illegal items. Tune in to #eNCA, channel #DStv403.

Sisisi Tolashe Faces Questions Over Luxury SUVs Allegedly Donated to ANCWL but Registered to Her Children Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe is facing mounting scrutiny following allegations that two luxury SUVs she said were donated to the African National Congress Women's League were instead registered in the names of her adult children. According to an investigation published on 2 April 2026 by Daily Maverick, the two BAIC Beijing X55 vehicles valued at roughly R400,000 to R500,000 each were registered in April 2024 to Nanilethu Tolashe and Kanyisa Tolashe. One of the vehicles was later sold through an online marketplace. In a February 2026 written reply to ActionSA MP Dereleen James, Tolashe stated the SUVs had been donated by Chinese officials directly to the ANC Women’s League and therefore did not need to be declared in Parliament’s Register of Members’ Interests. However, senior ANCWL officials have since indicated they have no record of the vehicles. Speaking on The Clement Manyathela Show, the league’s secretary-general confirmed the organisation had “no record of cars,” while its treasurer also said she was unaware of any such assets belonging to the league. The report further found that the vehicles were released from a Pretoria dealership in December 2024 more than a year after the alleged donation period in late 2023 raising additional questions about the timeline and handling of the vehicles. Neither Tolashe nor the Chinese embassy responded to requests for comment at the time of publication. The revelations have sparked renewed debate about transparency and compliance with South Africa’s Executive Ethics Code, although no formal investigation has yet been announced.

🚨Sarah-Jane Trent is desperately trying to erase her explosive Ad Hoc Committee testimony - and the @AdhocCommittee just shut her down hard. On 5 March she broke down in tears multiple times while being grilled on her work with Paul O’Sullivan, access to credit records, text messages sharing personal details with Robert McBride, and that infamous “semi-social/situationship” that included sex with the former IPID boss. Now she wants it all declared invalid (pro non scripto). Here’s what’s really going on 👇 #AdHocCommittee #SarahJaneTrent

Jacqui Uys, former Tshwane Finance MMC has made a submission to the Madlanga Commission. She has submitted evidence linking security contracts to water tanker tenders. Her dossier to the Commission goes much further to help connect the dots on evidence already before the Commission. She names certain politicians who are implicated. South Africans deserve the truth. @pule_jones

@MediaZaban865 Mind you the media reported "the call for National Commissioner to step down" and not reporting on this complaint. That woman needs to go!

🗓 9 November 2025 We formally wrote to the Minister of Justice, Public Service Commission, NDPP (then Adv Shamila Batohi), the Integrity Unit at the NPA, the Legal Practice Council, and the Chairperson of the Justice Portfolio Committee. Our correspondence included detailed case studies illustrating the unethical conduct of Adv Andrea Johnson. Yet, despite these serious representations, Adv Andrea Johnson remains in office, while her continued presence undermines the credibility and reputation of IDAC. 🎯 Why has no decisive action taken, despite clear documented concerns in public displays and having been placed before the relevant oversight bodies? #RemoveAndreaJohnson

The real question is do we believe Heidi or correctional services who says proper processes was not followed? Also how long is an inmate allowed to be on a call ? 20 min like on the interview? The plot against Gayton McKenzie is so evident it’s not even funny lol
Yusuf Abramjee@Abramjee

[COMMENT] Gayton McKenzie now claims Jermaine Prim called eNCA’s @HeidiGiokos from a cellphone — even suggesting it was a “spoofed” number. What a joke!! Heidi has already presented evidence showing the call originated from a landline inside the Johannesburg Correctional Centre (see Screen grab). It was a landline number. I’ll say it again: prisoners calling out is nothing new. There are countless examples over the years of inmates communicating with the media — whether through phones, letters, or intermediaries. Have we forgotten about the “Grootvlei Connection”? The real issue is not the call. What Jermaine Prim said is what matters. His allegations are serious. They must be tested. This should be the subject of a proper, transparent investigation. Trying to discredit the call instead of addressing the claims raises more questions than answers.

BREAKING NEWS | Security boss Calvin Mathibeli has just suffered another legal defeat. Last month, Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi approached the KZN High Court after Mathibeli called him corrupt, captured and insinuated he was behind unlawful killings. At the time, the court ruled in the provincial commissioner’s favour - but this was challenged by the respondent. Now, Mathibeli’s leave to appeal the initial judgement - mainly compelling him to publicly retract his defamatory statements and not repeat them - has just been dismissed with punitive costs. This means he must comply with the above order within 24 hours. @eNCA
