too weird to live too rare to die

The suburban sprawl in Georgia is getting out of hand, and has made much of the state unpleasant to live in Particularly, the suburbs are increasingly full of Indians, Koreans, and Chinese, not Georgians So we're destroying our natural inheritance to build horrid developments and strip malls for their denizens to "work" (launder money) in. It's gross But of course the GDP and Chamber of Commerce crowd love it This is why you should own land as best you're able, and encourage others you know and trust to do so in close proximity: rare exceptions aside, if you own it, the regime and its developer cronies can't drain your pond to put in a housing development for a bunch of Indians

This is probably good (and a good deal) but I don’t understand Central/Eastern European sliced bread culture. Do you nibble the bread separately? Do you sandwichize it?

NEW: Steve Sarkisian on Ole Miss’ transfer portal practices and academic standards: “At Texas, we will only take 50% of a player’s academic credit hours. You may be a semester from graduating, but you’re going all the way back to 50% if you play here and want a degree. But at Ole Miss, they can take you. All you have to do is take basket weaving, and you can get an Ole Miss degree.” (via @MattHayesCFB) on3.com/news/steve-sar…

Reuters reports that a memo draft floating around the Pentagon considers whether the US should support Argentina's claim to the Malvinas/Falklands as a way to support Milei and punish Europe for failing to support the war in Iran. reuters.com/world/pentagon…

Why don’t we raise dishwashers so loading and unloading isn’t such a pain?

For starters, the 9th year guy missed 2018 after preseason foot surgery. That injury required additional surgery in 2019 fall camp & he missed 2019, too. *After the 2019 season* he asked for & was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA for medical reasons. Then COVID, then other injuries where he missed full seasons. I still don’t think he should be getting a 9th year. That said, if Chambliss had requested a sixth year after the 2022 season like Tuliaupupu did in 2019, there would be no issue. Requesting it 4 years later after a breakout season is ridiculous.

The Nashville Electric Service held 102 DEI-related training sessions by the end of 2024. They should’ve been using those resources to trim trees and bury utilities. This is what happens when companies put woke politics over the needs of the people they serve.
