Lil announcement - since the beginning of the year, I've started working on Onramps here at Coinbase!
We say this all the time as an industry, but onramping (aka buying stablecoins/crypto outside of a centralized exchange) still hasn't been solved.
The biggest complaints I usually hear are 2 fold:
1) Still *expensive* -> Why does it cost me $5 + 2% to go from USD -> USDC?
2) The transaction itself just *fails* -> Why are my transactions getting rejected all the time? There's several reasons for why this happens specifically to onramps today, which I'll cover as separate deep dives.

x402 is progressing at an absurd rate.
1. @CoinbaseDev creates x402, launches SDKs
2. @Cloudflare adds x402 to their Agents SDK
3. @vercel (@ethanniser) creates the x402-mcp SDK
4. @merit_systems launches x402scan and ai-x402 SDK to complete the x402 coverage of ANY AI resource

We’ve improved transaction hash speed and reduced latency for Coinbase Onramp. ⚡️
Results:
→ @Base Network: Transaction Hash available ~50% faster (~15-16 seconds sooner).
→ @Solana Network: Transaction Hash available ~61% faster (~24 seconds sooner).
Developers now receive the transaction hash earlier, so they can display it to users sooner. Users can then track their transaction in real time on a block explorer.
