Can't decide which is crazier - the guy who thinks he could beat a grizzly bear, or the guy who thinks he'd lose a fight to a rat.

@Noahpinion I recall that you casted Musk as a "great man" more or less, and that he'd be instrumental to liberal democracies resisting China. Have you updated since then now that AI is the big thing, with him having at best a second-tier lab? Never mind the shilling w/ optimus and terafab.

I’m an open minded woman but this is not a fetish site. So many people on here are trying to normalise their frankly unpleasant sexual behaviour and it really annoys me. We get it, you’re a misogynist with a humiliation fetish, go away. If you’re going to be inappropriate or creepy, I will block you.

Thought du jour: When did you last call someone noble, or honourable? Even good has slipped from use. In its place: kind, nice, agreeable - softer words that praise pleasantness, not greatness @RuxandraTeslo shorturl.at/p2iiQ

@RuxandraTeslo @unherd “Public frustration with elites, whether directed at billionaires or corporations, is frequently expressed in the language of equality and redistribution.” Frequently seems like a stretch when roughly half of the criticism towards the elite is more about them being out of touch.

"Within an enchanted worldview, earthly failure did not exhaust a life’s meaning: the poor and humiliated could still belong to a larger divine story." I wrote for @UnHerd about the origins of the modern obsession w/ equality—understood as more than legal equality.

@signulll Before, I think most people would’ve agreed with something like “helping other people”, whether that gets expressed as charity, entrepreneurship, companionship, etc. perfectly fine answer; does not hold up, though, IMO

the real benefit of ai is the forced confrontation with the question "what tf are humans for?"

@_ueaj Only Claude/Anthropic faces this issue IMO. ChatGPT seems like it’d be fine just following orders. Claude will think “Uh, you want to use compute on refactoring your yacht factory when kids are dying of hunger?”

“Leftist discourse is just them pretending not to understand things” = they honestly think we’re just as bigoted as they are, deep down, so when we insist otherwise, they think we’re just pretending not to understand why privileged groups deserve privilege and vice versa.

Almost all right-wing women know that right-wing men are misogynists, but they don’t leave because they think EVERYONE is misogynistic and just pretending not to be. Hence allegations of “virtue signaling” and “leftist discourse is just them pretending not to understand things”
Sam Adler-Bell@SamAdlerBell

“The consensus is essentially that women are subhuman,” she says, “and I mean that quite literally: subrational, non-agentic, cattle.” New in @NYMag: I spoke to women in, around, and leaving MAGA about the right’s unabashed embrace of misogyny.

Today on the blog, I reconsider fertility projections. If population falls, then housing should get cheaper -- and won't that lead to more kids? There might be 24 million more people than the Census Bureau projects! nicholasdecker.substack.com/p/making-bette…

@doctormorphh You're retarded. To him, fashion is an art that he pursues irrespective of sexual value. Looksmaxxers are explicitly chasing female, or more often, male, validation. It's okay to want to be healthier, fitter, etc. doing it for attention gets cringe after a while

looksmaxxing is the pursuit of improving the way you look with the end goal being an improvement in quality of life, confidence, status, feeling good about yourself etc the reason one would “looksmax” is the same reason you wear a nice suit “women dont find looksmaxxing attractive” women dont find an attractive guy attractive? “no they dont find the pursuit of looksmaxxing attractive” who said you have to show you are actively pursuing it? the essence of masculinity lies in making things seem effortless. you think the pursuit of making sure you wear a nice looking piece of cloth so some old fat tailor can compliment your style is attractive for a female? or that primarily females are impressed by a nice, tailored suit? you also “looksmaxx” but you just go about it differently. some prefer to improve their face, some prefer to focus on clothing style, some prefer both and so on. you are judging a mirror here, my friend.
derek guy@dieworkwear

what is the point of looksmaxxing? is it to impress other men in the looksmaxxing community? i don't get impression that women find this sort of personality or even the aesthetic attractive
