Amazon Leo becomes the first satellite internet operator on the continent while Starlink is still locked out of its own founder's home country. This is not really a story about satellites. It is a story about two different theories of how you enter a market you do not control. One company tried to bend the rules to fit its structure. The other built a structure to fit the rules. Herotel already reaches 350000 customers across 550 towns. By 2027 that network gets satellite coverage layered on top of it, reaching farms and small towns that fibre never could. Starlink built the hype. Amazon Leo might just win the market. Sometimes the smartest move in business is not to fight the referee. It is to learn the rules faster than everyone else.
