As a result, many spent decades masking, navigating misunderstandings, or feeling different without having a name for their experiences. Research shows that older autistic adults may face higher rates of physical and mental-health challenges, including anxiety, depression, burnout, chronic conditions, and increased social isolation. Sir Michael Palin highlights that hospices caring for people at end of life allows them to die with dignity, and provides much needed support for their family. How can it be acceptable that hospices rely on charity to meet the costs of caring for the dying, whilst #Labour intends to fully fund the costs of #assisteddying? If everyone could access a dignified death in a hospice or at home with the palliative care they need to minimise suffering, would there be any need for doctors to assist the suicide of terminally ill adults? The priorities seem wrong to me…
