@joncoupland Saved yourself £375 not paying a tax that was abolished in 1937? Well done. What’s your next piece of financial wisdom?

@ItalianoRagazzo @TheHistoryNov @_Zojka Add delivery drivers/postmen with dedicated portable parcel scanners, electricity & gas smart meters in homes and businesses, remote site alarm systems or monitoring equipment, emergency services radios (Airwave), and so on. All use SIM cards.

@TheHistoryNov @_Zojka Ok let's use your logic. Self employed have 2 phones. Calculate the number of self employed and double that. The numbers still don't add up.

Just a reminder that Britain's true population is likely over 91 million (calculated from SIM data ect), meaning that the true GDP per capita is on par with Cyprus

@CyclingLawLDN The driver needs to be locked up for a very long time and, if he's ever released, given a lifetime driving ban. Could murder could be tricky to prove, though? While he deliberately hit the cyclist, can the prosecution prove that his intention was to kill, rather than injure?

@nateinthewild I think it's flipping them over so the label is on the bottom, presumably so a camera on the conveyor can read them. Would be just as easily solved by adding an extra camera pointing downwards.

@LUDENClassics It's a bit Leica-y. They use "TYP" and then a number for their cameras. But at least their letters line up with the thing they're stamped on.

I for one am getting pretty tired of Britain trampling all over the first amendment.

Here's one example of how utterly insane British planning and building is: this is a tube station 35 minutes away from the City of London, the financial capital of Europe. Most of the surrounding land is farms and empty fields.

@adrianfclarke I wonder how many high level meetings and focus groups went into creating this pearl? And, oh look, it has the compulsory 1000bhp that every new flagship EV must have.

@VickieforNYC Couple of things: when did he immigrate from Yemen, and was it done legally? Can you prove the $600,000 was not obtained or earned legally?

Just got out of a community board meeting to advise on an application for a new smoke shop in my district. Applicant is a 29 year old immigrant from Yemen. Has $600,000 in the bank. Where did this money come from? How is this not a major red flag for investigators? When a 29 year old from a third world country known only for terrorism has $600k in the bank and is using it to degrade a quiet American neighborhood with a smoke shop that literally nobody here wants or asked for, it seems like a pretty big problem. Meanwhile ordinary Americans can barely pay their bills.

@AutoPap When I tried one in the showroom, the seats felt quite hard to me, like there's not much padding in them. I thought I'd find it uncomfortable over a long distance. Other than that, though, I think they're great.

@TheStingisBack If you truly love Doug, then buy the DVD sets of the TV show "The Virginian." He played Trampas, the cowboy ladies man who lent much of the comedy relief in the show. You will NOT be disappointed. It made me a Doug fan. Also, get the series "Search." He played Mr. Grover.

Doug McClure (born OTD) is my childhood in one square-jawed package. The Land That Time Forgot, At the Earth’s Core, and Warlords of Atlantis are the holy trinity of scrappy adventures. Saving lost worlds, and bagging hot women (Caroline Monro) was just another Tuesday for Doug.

@LUDENClassics The Ghibli II, and the Cup in particular, is one of those 'if you know, you know' cars among enthusiasts. Not as shouty as owning a Ferrari, but it has a style all its own. Yes, I know they can be fragile, but the want is very strong.
