Dr Louks do you wanna come to the US sometime I can show you how to eat Chesapeake bay blue crabs

The horrors persist, but so do I
English

@60sJapanfan The only way to assess this is to take:
- Deposit on purchase
- Mortgage payments over the years
- Maintenance costs over the years
- Deduct market rent for all the years
Inflation adjust all all of these then compare to selling price
English

*A £34,575 profit, so a loss after maintenance costs

David Stillwell@david_stillwell
Found it on RightMove... She feels entitled to £410k profit.

@DanNeidle Why would there be any sign of it had the withholding tax been paid? Surely even if the tax was paid by the REIT on behalf of the shareholders it would just form part of the ‘dividends paid’ figure in the cash flow statement? So there’d be no way to tell for sure
English

@kittyraethomp @CEN_HQ Literally multiple people in that video having to adjust to walk around those couple of tables. So yes the business can pay a licence fee (rent)
English

2 tables ➕ 4 chairs 🟰 £££ a year 🤯
Councils call it a 'pavement licence'.
Hospitality businesses call it a rip off.
We call it a Table Tax.
The government should scrap it.

@ArgonTap @DoctorLemma I would suggest that a department store is a type of shop
English

@DoctorLemma Harrods was a department store, not a shop. Several other facts are also WRONG.
English

Until 1976, you could walk into a shop in London, England called Harrods and buy a lion, a camel, or an elephant. In 1969, two young Australians named John Rendall and Ace Bourke walked in and bought a three-month-old lion cub.
They named him Christian. He lived with them above a furniture shop, played in local gardens, and rode around the city in the back of a convertible. When he outgrew London, they flew him to Kenya, where a conservationist named George Adamson released him into the wild in the Kora National Reserve.
A year later, the two men flew back to find him. Adamson warned them Christian was now fully wild and might not remember them. Despite being the head of a wild pride, Christian recognised them immediately and ran to greet them. The reunion was filmed, and the footage has since been viewed over 100 million times.
Christian was last seen in early 1973, heading north. He was never seen again.

@GP @KieranMaguire We probably had to sell Anderson then to comply with PSR that season (or specifically the three season period ending with that season). This later sale of the stadium lease makes no difference to previous three year periods
English

@KieranMaguire So in theory does that mean they could have got away without selling Elliot Anderson?

Newcastle United publish 24/25 accounts, when Club won Carabao Cup. 🔑figures
⚽️Total revenue £335m (record) ⬆️5%
⚽️ Commercial revenue £123m (record, adidas deal etc) ⬆️42%
⚽️ Broadcast revenue £161m ⬇️12% (no CL)
⚽️ Wages £243m ⬆️11%
⚽️Average weekly wage £103k
⚽️ Wages/revenue 73% (2024 68%)
⚽️ Amortisation £100m ⬆️3%
⚽️ Underlying loss £107m ⬆️55%
⚽️ Sale of property to group company £129m (perfectly legal and allowed for PSR)
⚽️ Player sale profits £20m ⬇️72%
⚽️Pre tax profit £35m
⚽️Player purchases £40m
⚽️Player sales £29m
⚽️Total cost of squad £581m ⬇️4%
⚽️Shares issued to owners in year £50m
Newcastle would have failed PSR had it not been for the stadium sale to themselves.

@2oddshapedballs And if you lived in Ireland working for a British company you too would pay tax there rather than the UK
English

@DanNeidle @shorts2kuk @Heccles94 I can think of one CEO who works for a British company but lives in Ireland and pays tax there rather than the UK.
English

@richardjones323 @KieranMaguire @ftfcRedford Related companies who are owed 49m confirm they won’t demand repayment unless the company can afford to do so
English

@KieranMaguire @ftfcRedford How are not insolvent? Is there a parent guarantee or something? I wouldn’t sign off on these accounts!
English

Ahh it’s that time of the year again when this nobhead gets his keyboard out and tries his hardest to farm engagements

Fleetwood Town lost over £115,000 a week in 24/25 taking total losses to £46 million over the years #sustainable

@garvvee @LRSerling Can confirm as someone who doesn’t eat meat it is not at all hard
English

@LRSerling it’s hard when you don’t eat meat and don’t eat sweets!
English

There are people living lives i cannot comprehend. What do you mean you struggle to eat 2k calories thats like one large meal
visual basic@visualbasic97
i’ve been trying to go to the gym and gain weight recently after being anorexic basically my entire life and i never realized how difficult it is to eat 2,000 calories a day. you genuinely just have to not stop eating all day. this is ridiculous
English

@TSanchezMD Nope. Years of developments in car safety standards and the efforts of those on the ground that day.
English

@DRSunlocked God & His angels were there with Grosjean that day. You don’t see that accident & not realize there was divine intervention that allowed Romain to walk away.
English

Ayao Komatsu said in a recent podcast that Grosjean's left foot was stuck under the pedal, and he had to get back down into the cockpit, pull his leg in such a manner to get the shoe off (which is not easy to do normally), then get out of the cockpit.
If you see the rewinds of him being carried by 2 medics, you can see he only has one boot on.

@DanNeidle Also curious that in each of the last 4 years accounts for his company there were additions to investment properties of varying amounts between 40k and 1.1m which in each year were offset by an equivalent revaluation loss to carry forward 2.2m each year… seems rather odd
English

@simong1962 @DanNeidle @DanielJHannan @AartiJo5hi @TiceRichard As a sitting MP he is by law deemed to be UK resident for tax purposes regardless of where he actually lives
English

@DanNeidle @DanielJHannan @AartiJo5hi @TiceRichard Does he not live in Dubai or is planning to and as such good tax planning ?
English

It’s hardly my job to defend @TiceRichard. But there is nothing wrong with legal tax avoidance. Legal tax avoidance is what you do when you buy an ISA. If you dislike the specific arrangements he had, change the rules. But don’t complain that he was following existing rules.
English

@complience Does the overnight staying not cost additional to the membership?
English

@StandUpGang Not knowing for sure is exactly why you speculate. The tweet I replied to was presuming a definite and I was simply saying ‘maybe not’
English

i know this feels shitty but lowkey it sounds like she was excited for the date. a hair appointment right before! wanting to change!

@StandUpGang @prettycritical @PolarBearWASH Yes, the asking to reschedule could be 1) genuinely asking to reschedule or 2) ending it completely without actually saying so and it is impossible to tell from the tweet which it is
English

@a_m_sim @prettycritical @PolarBearWASH Asking to reschedule so that you can actually reschedule is also not uncommon and is in fact normal
English

@prettycritical @PolarBearWASH Saying “can we reschedule” and never speaking to the person again is not uncommon
English

@PolarBearWASH she literally did ask to spend time with him when she asked if he’d be down to reschedule
English

@JazzLikesToGame Can’t be grinding hard enough - had my gyarados before I’d even taken on Misty on my latest original Red playthrough 🤷🏻♂️
English

Getting a Gyrados in the early Pokémon games takes a whole lot more effort imo than the newer games because of having to switch it in and out for experience points from that baby Magikarp fish.
We earn that shit and so we respect the Gyrados far more. ❤️😭

@a_5t_n @theiaincameron Per the image in the original tweet the rule jn question refers to both “pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross” and OP makes clear that in their scenario they were a pedestrian crossing
English

@theiaincameron Now you’re talking about a pedestrian already in the road. Yeah, you would giveaway that is law. The rule you refer to was about people waiting. 🤦
English

@_Michael_Spud_ @benkilbride85 @richardjones323 @KieranMaguire The shortening by one day (right before the filing deadline) extends the filing deadline by 3 months. Avoids penalties for late filing
English

@benkilbride85 @richardjones323 @KieranMaguire And what benefits do you get from this?
She needs to start winning games instead of quitting them.
