@SulavKarki There's more to it. Valley is an economic hive. People move here for better opportunities. Not all climb the economic ladder, or are affluent enough to afford an accommodation. It's a fact that they have been used as a vote bank, but their problems are genuine.

I cannot verify this, but if this is true, Doesn't it make you angry?? How after second jana andolan this was allowed to happen?? Why did no government do anything initially to stop illegal settlements there?? Hundreds of people didn't just go and settle there in a day, it probably took years and our pathetic corrupt politicians let it happen and now the situation is not easy to solve.

@neorohit It is not. Simple reason? Dural or conflicting loyalty. Political rights wouldn't be confined to voting, it could extend to standing for political office. That itself, for a country like Nepal, should be the reason to preclude this jeopardy.

If some people are still confused, Sukumbasis mean people who have no land anywhere in Nepal. How many Nepalis living in illegal settlements in Kathmandu valley like near Thapathali and other areas are real sukumbasis??Some of them demand that if they are to be evacuated from this settlement then they should be given land inside Kathmandu valley itself, Is that fair to other Nepalis?? Differentiate real and fake sukumbasis in Kathmandu valley first and start the process, also their demands that they be given land in Kathmandu valley itself can't be fulfilled.

One of the biggest businessmen in Nepal (and former President of FNCCI) has been arrested by Nepal Police. This is big news and it shows that the Government isn't gonna spare anyone powerful in this Deepak Bhatta share transfer scam case if evidence exists.
I hope major business houses in Nepal don't oppose his arrest and let the investigation play out, no one in Nepal (including a powerful businessmen) should be above the law. The share market in Nepal might be spooked though.
