I think we’re seeing a few key questions emerge around what prediction markets can / must be
1) Do all markets have to be two sided to the public?
2) Does market making have to be open and accessible? Or can it even just be limited to one private market making group?
3) What information does the public have a right to? Is it simply just the price and return their side will get filled at? What about order book, total volume, liquidity, etc?
The early days feel like the PMs that started as OSBs are just trying to mirror the previous sports betting experience for retail. I get the appeal of that for them but not sure that’s a long-term winning strategy.
