We mourn the passing of Arch. David Muoka Mutiso F.A.A.K, a founding pillar of AAK and Kenya’s first indigenous architect. His vision, humility, and service shaped not only our national skyline but also generations of professionals across East Africa. The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) celebrates Geoffrey Mosoti Nyakiongora, AIA, who has made history as the second Kenyan architectural designer ever invited to the prestigious Venice Biennale Architettura in its 130-year history. The 58th Annual AAK AGM is in progress. AAK President, @nyolette is delivering the 2024 President’s Report, showcasing the Association’s strides in advocacy, expansion of professional development opportunities, and its growing influence in shaping policy and practice within the built environment. #AAKAGM2025

Members voiced deep concerns over poor planning amid rapid development, escalating corruption and malfeasance, the limited capacity of county governments, declining living standards, and the failure to implement recommendations from public participation engagements. AAK members honored our Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Lenah Waweru, for her twenty years of dedicated service to the Association. Throughout her tenure, Lenah has been a pillar of support, demonstrating unwavering commitment, professionalism, and excellence in her role. Her contributions have played a significant part in the growth and success of the Association, and her presence will be greatly missed. As she prepares to retire at the end of August 2025, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for her years of hard work and dedication.
