@WhateverVishal I’ve watched once top tier localities in south delhi becoming ghettoized slowly and slowly The price to escape to comfortable middle class is now 5cr+

300 freshers laid off by Zoho. No notice. No explanation. They turned down TCS, Cognizant & Capgemini for this. One full-time employee asked "are you replacing us with trainees?" and shortly after: 300 young careers were paused. These weren't job hoppers. They were kids from small towns whose families were depending on that paycheck. Freshers don't come to replace you. They come to learn from you. The real question is: who's protecting entry-level talent in Indian tech?

Teacher at a school, earning 80K salary, cannot even spelling basic words in Hindi It is Amritkaal, everywhere

It’s easy to dunk on Geoffrey Hinton for his 2016 declaration that it was “completely obvious” that radiologists would have no jobs within 5 years, while in fact, the number of radiologists has grown. But this prediction was more than a simple mistake. It’s a synedoche for the entire discourse of AI timelines and doom.

5 minutes ago, @karpathy just dropped karpathy/jobs! he scraped every job in the US economy (342 occupations from BLS), scored each one's AI exposure 0-10 using an LLM, and visualized it as a treemap. if your whole job happens on a screen you're cooked. average score across all jobs is 5.3/10. software devs: 8-9. roofers: 0-1. medical transcriptionists: 10/10 💀 karpathy.ai/jobs

The best is "rent seeking", imagine not working a day and still getting lakhs at the end of the month.

You can just do things (genetically sequence your dog’s tumors and design a bespoke mRNA cancer vaccine to save her life)
