CPP holds $335 Billion of what could be an Alberta Pension Plan. Alberta pays out $9 billion per year and collects $5 billion back. CPP, in reserves...if nobody paid CPP again, would be at a ZERO Balance in less than 6 years. If Alberta had their $335 Billion as an APP, this would equate to about 67 YEARS. CPP has been such an abysmal failure that it's needed to be increased by 60% over the last decade(ish), plus require CPP2 to be added this year. An APP with 67 years in holdings, $335 Billion...would allow those who pay into it, to pay LESS...or for those who have paid in it to receive MORE. Not to mention the growth that could be obtained by our Province investing $335 Million...right? While we will both agree that neither of us wants to see any political party in control of our pension...this means YOU TOO...can you come up with a single reason that Alberta should continue to get shafted on our pension?
