At 65, I’m already a relic from a bygone era. An era where the customer was always right. An era where you could speak to the manager and the manager would actually try to help you. An era where if a business made a mistake, they apologized instead of blaming the customer. An era where customer service reps actually answered you instead of ignoring you or looking at their phone. An era where people took pride in their work and treated you with basic respect. An era where “the customer is always right” wasn’t laughed at as some outdated joke. An era where stores had cashiers who smiled, restaurants had waiters who actually checked on your table, and airlines didn’t treat you like cattle. An era where businesses understood that without polite, competent service, they wouldn’t have any customers left. Now, I’m just some old guy who still expects common courtesy in 2026. And apparently that makes me the crazy one. Well sorry kids… some of us still remember when businesses had to earn our money. And I'll never settle for less or reward bad behavior. After what we saw as the stolen 2020 election, we fought harder and helped bring him back. Then, suddenly, he made a complete 180-degree turn and became part of the very swamp he once vowed to drain.
