The GOP is looking for a scapegoat to blame their failure of passing the Save America Act on. They are going to make the Senate Parliamentarian (that Schumer hired), Elizabeth MacDonough, the boogeyman who kills it. She should have been fired in June but John Cornyn saved her.
Chad Pergram@ChadPergram

When asked by colleague Aishah Hasnie on Fox, Cornyn says "I don't think it's necessary" to remove the Senate Parliamentarian

We just won Missouri v. Biden. As Missouri’s Attorney General, I sued the Biden regime for brazenly colluding with Big Tech to silence Missouri families — censoring the truth about COVID, the Hunter Biden laptop, the open border, and the 2020 election. They tried to turn Facebook, X, YouTube, and the rest into their private speech police, labeling dissent “misinformation” while they pushed their narrative on the American people. Today, after years of unrelenting litigation, we deep state into a historic 10-year, court-enforceable Consent Decree. It directly binds the Surgeon General, the CDC, and CISA: no more threats of legal, regulatory, or economic punishment. No more coercion. No more unilateral direction or veto of platform decisions to remove, suppress, deplatform, or algorithmically bury protected speech. Missouri struck first—and Missouri won big. This is the first real, operational restraint on the federal censorship machine. It locks in the First Amendment principle we fought for: modern technology doesn’t erase your rights, and government labels don’t strip speech of protection. The deep state just got checked. For every working Missouri family tired of being silenced by their own government: this victory is yours. The heartland fought back, and the heartland delivered.

It is becoming increasingly clear that companies like @Meta just need to grow some balls at the executive level and say "these accounts will be specifically protected from cancellation b/c they are being maliciously targeted by dishonest actors"
Jennifer Sey@JenniferSey

.@Meta has confirmed that the suspension of our ad account on Friday morning was due to a "spike in negative feedback." Not anything wrong with any particular ad. All of which they had to approve before they went live. So met their policy guidelines. In my heart of hearts I believe the spike was due to @elonmusk tweeting about us (via @Riley_Gaines_ ). There simply is no reason the haters went on the attack (more than usual) at that particular moment. Meta provided some input to help us try to avoid this kind of spike in the future. While nice of them to try to help us stay live, will you just look at this: One piece of advice: "Stand up for women's sports" is ok to say. "Stand up for women" is probably not. It will trigger the haters, they tell us. Could the misogyny be more obvious? @elonmusk help a girl out and trigger them again. @jk_rowling you too. Trigger them all day long.

Thune keeps trying to roll Trump on immigration. First, he let Dems back out on the approps deal. Gave them everything they wanted in exchange for nothing. Now he’s trying to extract concessions from Trump, and rug pull him on a doomed reconciliation bill.

@ArtemisConsort there's the incentives-for-slop problem, and then there's the personnel-quality problem. Open to both angles but I think the latter is bigger, how to ensure a pipeline of staff that are loyal and decent.

@AezzieUwU @ChristianHeiens a lot of people who feel like the OP were libertarians a decade ago. Then wokes acted like such totalitarians it became clear they (and especially lefty alphabet activists) were not interested in leaving us (and our kids) alone. So now that style of libertarianism looks naive 🤷‍♂️

The Left wants to wield power and the Right wants to be free from it. What do people who want to be free from power do? They certainly don’t spend their money constructing vast ideological patronage networks for the explicit purpose of creating a vanguard who are committing to seizing political power. If Conservative donors do anything in the field of politics, they simply fund campaigns for libertarian-minded politicians who will “cut taxes” and “get the government out of their life.” Meanwhile, Leftist donors will spend vast sums of money doing nothing but molding entire generations of political activists who know how to do nothing but agitate for state power. Is it really any surprise that things continuously move further and further to the Left with time? They essentially have no real opposition, just a bunch of disorganized people who want to escape politics rather than engage in it.

When I was at TAC, we published a piece by someone who lived in Brazil who mentioned that her black Brazilian friends were constantly being invited by the Ford Foundation to come to the U.S. for fully funded fellowships in anti-racism. This was in the 1990s.

There seems to be a real disconnect in how people view Robert Mueller, and I’m not talking about the brainwashed types who were buying candles with his face on them. I mean the gap between those who think he was simply bad, and those who believe he wasn’t that bad but damaged his legacy by getting involved in the Russia collusion hoax. I’d argue that even if we assume he was angel before that, and there are plenty of reasons to think he wasn’t, the Russia collusion episode was so catastrophic that it outweighs everything else. That still leaves the question of his mental state. Was he too senile to understand what was happening? He certainly seemed pretty far gone during his train wreck testimony in 2019, yet not so far gone that he had no idea what was being done in his name. So even if Weissmann and the others carried out the dirty deeds, as they did, by lending his name, Mueller is just as guilty as they are.
