@charafmrah @SethRubenstein From my experience, the files will refresh on the sidebar however, this doesn't solve one annoyance I have, I don't like that cursor only has an icon to show the folder is a symlink (it doesn't show the true path on hover). I was going to try to make a cursor extension for that

@aaronware @SethRubenstein I built something similar but for some reason Cursor & VSC file watchers don’t seem to catch up and so it doesn’t show me the actual file’s content of the current worktree. Have you faced similar problems?

The problem with Git worktrees for AI branching is the fucking mess it leaves behind on your filesystem.

AI has made many people want everything NOW, like a magic easy button they can just press. But there is still craftsmanship, design and UX that at this point cannot be shortcut, AI is not going to solve for complex scenarios or usability because it's inherently not creative

@SethRubenstein I’ve yet to make it work flawlessly on a single WP install. Tried symlinking but that messes up the file watchers of most IDEs. I need a way to have multiple sessions on different branches open + selectively apply them on a single WP install. Is that too much to ask for 😔

@ShopifySupport you seeing anything with the dev portal and not being able to see apps? Nothing in the status page. Multiple team members reporting they can't access our apps partners.shopify.com{PARTNERID}/apps just a blank screen

I have always been awful at is setting up tests for various projects. That's one area that AI has dramatically helped me with. Even retro fitting some (not all) projects has at least been a lot easier going for sure

Sometimes I wonder, who the hell is reading what I post. Then I get reactions, retweets, likes, all kinds of stuff. Then I’m like….oh.

✨ We built WP Composer — an independent, open source Composer repository for WordPress plugins and themes, with 17x faster cold resolves than WPackagist wp-composer.com

@rootswp @rootswp is there also a plan to add support for private packages? We currently rely on a SatisPress instance, which is becoming slower over time. We would be happy to pay a (small 😉) subscription for a sophisticated solution rather than hosting it ourselves

@robbertvancaem @rootswp For the time being, if your satispress build is slowing, take a look at some of the threads on the satispress github involving caching, I know caching isn't performance. After caching our's have over 100+ plugins and loads pretty fast after priming cache

What is the plan for @WPEngine acquisition of wpackagist? Historically WPEngine's purchases have been freemium to premium and generate $$$. @LocalWP came w/ Flywheel is well supported. Private Equity typically want profits from assets. First step is an ad in the CLI now

@lelandf @alexmansfield @bgardner @wpengine I know nothing is perfect, but in a perfect world FAIR would have worked as intended AND had backing from major hosts and wpackaigst would have become part of that... One can dream

@aaronware @alexmansfield @bgardner @wpengine Do you think this is a realistic scenario? I am thinking of LocalWP which is still free today. Nothing is truly altruistic when you think about it, but I don’t see the $/mo WPackagist tiers happening. It’s more valuable in goodwill to simply keep it free.

@lelandf @alexmansfield @bgardner @wpengine I think @WPLocal is a great, its stable and WP Engine maintain it, it also hasn't had a meaningful feature in years. Last bugfix was Oct 2025 since it doesn't make $. Paid tiers while hyperbolic isn't entirely unrealistic. Private packagists are easy to implement.

The biggest bitch ass move on socials is to make a stupid comment, get checked on it, and then do another stupid ass response and immediately block the person who checked you. It’s like ending an argument like the Dad in Christmas Story yelling “Not a finger” & slamming the door

@alexmansfield @bgardner @wpengine Notice links to primary WPE domain to "learn more". WPE Homepage makes no mention of acquisition. While not significant, still an advertisement. Does not send to wpackagist.org to actually learn more. Hence Ad. I don't think this is unfair and also a slippery slope

@alexmansfield @bgardner @wpengine For my agency, we use wpackagist for ALL WP projects, it's not an insignificant part of our operations, like the .org repo. So an ad in the CLI is a minor change today. What is the change tomorrow? X amount of composer installs per day, premium tier for $/mo? PE require revenue

@aaronware @bgardner @wpengine True. It’s not stewardship. But that has nothing to do with benevolence or private equity. Technically, stewardship is taking care of something that doesn’t belong to you. They acquired these plugins, so you’re right, it’s not stewardship.
