Trumps real reason for attacking Iran… It came in another Truth Social posting that linked to an article in the far right Internet rag, "Just the News," with the headline "Iran tried to interfere in 2020, 2024 elections to stop Trump, and now faces renewed war with United States." Trump is now suggesting that we attacked Iran because they tried to harm his election prospects. This nonsense suggests Trump had no reason to attack Iran. He did it as a favor to Netanyahu who was only too happy to join the attack. They did not do it for the Iranian people because if they did they would have at least had someone in mind to assume power who could work with the US. Like Venezuela, the Iranian Power structure remains. Cutting off the head of the snake merely brings another snake to power. The US has not been successful in the Middle East. Our actions do not lead to a safer world. Instead it invites danger to Americans at home and abroad. This was about power pure and simple.
