I am looking for a Midlands-based actor to play Leontes and Autolycus in The Winter’s Tale later this year.
Rehearsals are in Nov at Attenborough Arts in Leicester, then 3 shows there in Dec, before 3 shows including a livestream in Jan at Derby Theatre Studio.

We're left in no doubt that Burton will triumph, when I wanted uncertainty and possibility - the collective inhale that Branagh described when playing Hamlet. Also, justice for Elizabeth Taylor who deserves a postscript too! Tuppence Middleton is a delight.

I disliked the ending though, which in its combination of postscripts explaining Burton's and Gielgud's success, the soundtrack (Zadok the Priest) and Burton in the Yorick pose, overdetermines the subsequent moment of performance.

In a pause from marking I took myself off to The Motive and the Cue. An incredible and hugely enjoyable production. It thinks really interestingly about the contingencies of fame and performance, failure, and Shakespeareanism so perfect research for my bad!Shakespeare project.

3. He Who Drowned the World - @shelleypchan. I LOVED this duology. This book is a BRILLIANT cumulation of multi-POV historical/military fantasy. Characters are all morally grey at best but you connect and care a lot. The intrigue is intriguing. Visceral. Compelling. Surprising
