@jskmap1284 @SidKhurana3607 @avidseries Boise is in Ada County which is next door to Boise County. I bet the mappers got it confused between city/county. Boise has the oldest synagogue in continuous use west of the Mississippi.

@SidKhurana3607 @avidseries Gotcha. Maybe it was an error in their data collection then, bc it still seems unlikely that 30-40% of that rural county was Jewish in 1952 & yet there’s no material about the community online. Maybe they counted the # of Jews in Boise & listed them in Boise County or something.

For those criticizing @DarioAmodei & @AnthropicAI , can you explain why you think it’s a good idea to give Hegseth the power to do mass domestic surveillance or deploy fully autonomous weapons? And if Hegseth has no plans for doing either, then what is the big deal here? Genuine, not rhetorical, questions. Eager to understand better.

Jack Nicholson used to grab coffee at a diner on the Strip. One night he showed up late to meet friends, and a waitress cleared his cup before he’d taken a sip, telling the table to leave. That moment was later written directly into Five Easy Pieces (1970).

Watch to the end, this South Florida Republican Congresswoman short circuits and accuses Maduro of being friends with Hezbollah and selling uranium to Hamas, Iran, and Cuba. Yes, uranium to Hamas. Also Nicaragua!

The 1968 Presidential election in Idaho is the first of fifteen consecutive Republican victories of the state. After Johnson’s narrowest victory here just four years prior, Idaho was an easy pickup for Republican Richard Nixon. Nixon carried the state by over 36 points.

Bill Moyers interviewed and featured my father in law, John Arnold, in a chapter in his 1971 book Listening to America. And he responded to my email in 2000 with a remembrance when I informed him of John’s passing.
PBS News@NewsHour

Bill Moyers, a legend in the world of journalism and a longtime member of the extended PBS family, has died at the age of 91. Moyers was perhaps best known for the long-running programs and documentaries he produced at PBS, including "Bill Moyers Journal" and "Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth." With the death of LBJ press secretary Bill Moyers at 91, the only living person from this famous photo on board Air Force One Nov. 22, 1963 is Sid Davis of Westinghouse Broadcasting. Sid is 97 and was responsible for giving the press pool report of LBJ swearing in on 11/22/63 at Love Field Dallas.

In 1916, amidst a wave of popular support for the policy, Idaho amended its constitution allowing for statewide prohibition of alcohol. The amendment passed by a wide 44 point margin, winning in every single county in the state as well as every major population center.
