great day at #GPACF21 - currently getting top tips from Dr Mary Anne Burrow on Women in Academia. Gender pay gaps, combining academia with clinical work (and caring responsibilities?!), why so fewer women in senior academic positions? It's 2021 and much work to be done...

4⃣ 1 article - 1 point 5⃣ Be direct / precise 6⃣ Important stuff to open not at the end 7⃣ Be open to editing 8⃣ Practise reading and writing a lot 9⃣ Avoid clichés 🔟 Considering pitching and improve pitching style #GPACF21

1⃣1⃣ Write for the target publication 1⃣2⃣ Build relationships with people/pubs 1⃣3⃣ Have a platform to write, ideally your own, e.g. blog or website 1⃣4⃣ You can write for @BJGPjournal opinion, @bmj_latest opinion, etc #GPACF21
