There is a King of England who also has some crown dependencies & overseas territories.
There are two kigndoms on the island of Great Britain - England and Scotland.
Scotland has not had a monarch since the death of Queen Anne in 1714.

Having higher expenditure than revenue creates a deficit.
Our deficit is “notional” as it is covered by fiscal transfers from rUK.

Deficit is NOTHING to do with borrowing - that would be debt.
Learn the difference!
For a start, we can borrow as per Scotland Act 2016
Secondly, we have a deficit because expenditure exceeds revenue. This is currently covered by uk wide fiscal balancing.

Last year total revenue was £91bn
Scot Gov spending was £72bn
Even if you only add WM reserved spend on Scotlands Pensions & Benefits at £25bn, that gives expenditure of £97bn - a £6bn deficit already

Of the £91bn revenue Scot govt spent £72bn, and wm spent £45bn (£25bn of that is on benefits & pensions in Scotland)

That is GDP - value of goods & services traded by Scottish companies. Around 55% of that remains with those businesses. The other 45% is Govt revenue, hence Scottish revenue of £91bn 🤦🏻♂️

(1) Scotland doesn’t live off English taxes - Scotland’s resources are plundered every day with us being short changed by £200bn a year.
