@davidsenra @pmarca People who build empires are not "great". In fact, they actively make the world worse. Artists are inherently introspective and they are the ones who actually make the world great.

Great men of history had little to no introspection. The personality that builds empires is not the same personality that sits around quietly questioning itself. @pmarca and I discuss what we both noticed but no one talks about: David: You don't have any levels of introspection? Marc: Yes, zero. As little as possible. David: Why? Marc: Move forward. Go! I found people who dwell in the past get stuck in the past. It's a real problem and it's a problem at work and it's a problem at home. David: So I've read 400 biographies of history’s greatest entrepreneurs and someone asked me what the most surprising thing I’ve learned from this was [and I answered] they have little or zero introspection. Sam Walton didn't wake up thinking about his internal self. He just woke up and was like: I like building Walmart. I'm going to keep building Walmart. I'm going to make more Walmarts. And he just kept doing it over and over again. Marc: If you go back 400 years ago it never would've occurred to anybody to be introspective. All of the modern conceptions around introspection and therapy, and all the things that kind of result from that are, a kind of a manufacture of the 1910s, 1920s. Great men of history didn't sit around doing this stuff. The individual runs and does all these things and builds things and builds empires and builds companies and builds technology. And then this kind of this kind of guilt based whammy kind of showed up from Europe. A lot of it from Vienna in 1910, 1920s, Freud and all that entire movement. And kind of turned all that inward and basically said, okay, now we need to basically second guess the individual. We need to criticize the individual. The individual needs to self criticize. The individual needs to feel guilt, needs to look backwards, needs to dwell in the past. It never resonated with me.

@RyaninCleveland it's embarrassing when i bring my out-of-town friends to games and they see this and say "wow Cleveland sure is still racist". You make the game experience worse.

1-6 in everyone’s lineup has some combination of: Kwan CF DeLauter RF Jose 3B Manzardo 1B Hoskins DH Valera LF .. which is very fun, honestly! But that 7-8-9 is just nasty right now until Bazzana and Genao get up here.

The funniest part of this is the fact that everyone’s 7-8-9 are probably nearly identical, and they all stink.

@GuardsJoey They are not gonna do 6 man rotation. That was a unique situation to end last year. There’s enough Cantillo hype that he makes rotation. Allen or Messick will be depth.

Based on how things current stand, this would be my OD roster prediction. Obviously subject to change. Kayfus, Brito, and Martinez are the ones I chose to leave off. I could see one of them taking Schneemann’s spot, or Arias/Rocchio’s if the FO finally picks a shortstop

I had not seen this quote yet. If Fry cannot play RF, I am confused what the plan is out there. DeLauter is going to be heavily load-managed and needs a partner out there. Valera shouldn't bat vs LHP.

@CalPenalPod I agree. in particular they need a guy who can play CF, because they probably don't want CDL playing the field every day either. They have to do better than Jonathan Rodriguez

@acertainben Certainly get that. They could have easily added one proven bat this winter and made things work though too. At this point, the guys internally are going to have to produce.

- Castellanos is old - he's a defensive liability - his offensive numbers are down - probably not the most popular clubhouse presence But $780k for a year, that's definitely worth it. Rhys Hoskins on a 1 yr deal makes more and more sense. Plays 1-2 gms/week @ 1B, DH the rest

Every time you rewatch 500 Days of Summer your perspective grows with your maturity. First watch as a young man I thought Summer was evil. Later after a few serious relationships I realized Tom was as much if not more at fault. Now as an adult I know Summer is a war criminal
