Partnering to leverage the power of technology for a greener world! The Declaration on Digital Public Infrastructure, AI and Data for Governance offers a roadmap towards a more sustainable planet. I thank the distinguished world leaders for their passion and support to this effort. We will continue the focus on the transformative potential of DPI, AI and data-driven governance to advance the SDGs and enhance lives globally. This is an area where India stands ready to contribute actively and share our best practices with the world.

With the new EFTA-India Free Trade Agreement, there are new possibilities for cooperation and job creation between 🇮🇳 and 🇳🇴. @narendramodi and I discussed the common interests of free trade between our two countries, and the war in Ukraine and in the Middle East.

The meeting with Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre was excellent. Our Arctic Policy has led to further cementing of India-Norway bilateral relations. We talked about how investment linkages between our nations can improve, particularly in renewable energy, green hydrogen and the blue economy. Closer cooperation in sectors like innovation and research were also discussed. @jonasgahrstore

Press Release of Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh's Visit to Norway: Nordic India Dialogue, Waste Management Facility Tour, and Indian Community Interaction

Ambassador Acquino Vimal and V Venkataraman, Minister (Pol) from the Embassy visited Ny-Alesund, Svalbard, today and met Indian scientists in Himadri, India's Arctic research station.

The scientists gave a presentation on their current projects and the way they were carrying out their respective research activities. Ambassador and his team also visited the Gruvebadet Atmosphere Laboratory.

Ambassador was also shown the facilities available for the research community in the Station. India is operating the Himadri station since 2008 and has started winter deployments at the station since December 2023.

Ambassador Acquino Vimal met with @ErikSolheim, the former Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme & @RinaSunder, Founder of Det Moderne India (DMI) & exchanged views on future programmes jointly organised by DMI & the Embassy in order to promote greater trade, India.

He shared his perspectives on the growing relationship between India and Norway and highlighted India's rapidly growing economy and the potential for increased collaboration between the two nations in various sectors.

Ambassador Acquino Vimal called on Ms Marianne Sivertsen Næss, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy of Norway and apprised her about the ongoing collaboration between India and Norway in the fields of fisheries, aquaculture and shipping.

The event was a grand celebration of sports & cultural exchange, featuring Chief Guest Ambassador Acquino Vimal, Country Mayor of Buskerud Mr. Tore Opdal Hansen, & Mayor of Lier Mr. Kjetil Kivle.

The event also featured a delightful kids' Kabbadi match, where 15-20 enthusiastic young players were rewarded with gifts and medals, handed out by the Ambassador and Mayor of Lier.

The Ambassador Kabbadi Cup not only highlighted the sport's growing popularity in Norway but also strengthened the cultural ties between India and Norway.

Ambassador Acquino Vimal and Mayor of Lier, Kjetil Kivle, attended as chief guests and presented medals to the winners and participants. The sports day served as an excellent opportunity for younger generations to showcase their athletic skills and build a sense of community.
