@Madz_Grant Parents should be up an hour before their kids no matter the day of the week. There’s no reason your 1-7 year old should be alone in the house by themselves. If your kids are up you get your lazy ass outta bed, parenting doesn’t start when you decide.

I've noticed amongst friends who have little kids that they are basically forced into waking up when they do. When I was little I remember v clearly knowing that we shouldn't go and wake parents until at least 9am on a weekend, and generally entertaining ourselves in the morning

Parents, Stop texting your kids during class while they’re at school. If it’s that important you can call the main office. But now you’re taking away from my classroom time and the time of 35 other students because you can’t follow the rules and law yourself. So knock it off. Thank you for your attention to this matter. @Simon_Ingari Take it to court, employers don’t have legal authority to refuse you time off if it’s medically necessary. I went through this. Won my case and never looked back.

Manager: Hey, so unfortunately I’m going to have to revoke your PTO for next week for the surgery you’ve planned, and I’m going to need you to move it to another time. Employee: I’m so sorry, but the surgery has actually been planned for about a year, and it’s already been half paid for. That’s not possible. Manager: Unfortunately, this is your job, and we need you here. It’s going to have to be possible. I know the doctors have other time slots, so I can’t imagine that’s going to be too difficult. We need you here for a specific, timely project. Employee: I did have this approved a month ago. I believe I’ve told you ahead of time. The surgery has been planned for about a year, and it’s an important procedure that I have to undergo. Manager: I really understand you, but this can’t be approved. Employee: This is really unfair and unprofessional. The employee is forced to choose life over the job. When the employee comes back, they are served with a termination letter with a very unfortunate reason—“being difficult and lacking loyalty and commitment.”

@TiffaniMarie483 Oh this is so normal, and that school grind with a newborn is absolute hell, I would suggest looking into help with school pick up and drop offs until you get the feel of a routine going.

First trimester is so rough. Woke up at 8:30, dropped 5yo off at school, got home and went back to sleep until 12:30. Up to get 5yo, grocery shopping, and home to make dinner. It’s 6pm now and I could go back to sleep, probably for the night. Normal?

Vafaeian, who was blind and had Type 1 diabetes, died in December through Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying program. His family says he struggled with seasonal depression following a serious car crash in his teens and had previously sought MAID approval. Under federal law, eligibility for MAID was expanded in 2021 to include people whose natural death is not reasonably foreseeable, often referred to as Track 2 cases. The family alleges they were not informed when a British Columbia physician approved his request and claim safeguards are insufficient. They are now advocating for legislative changes, including support for Bill C-218, which aims to limit eligibility where mental illness is the sole underlying condition. Vafaeian’s death certificate lists blindness, diabetes, and severe peripheral neuropathy as contributing conditions. His parents dispute whether those met the required threshold and are calling for tighter oversight of the system. Canada reported 16,499 medically assisted deaths in 2024, representing about 5.1 percent of all deaths nationwide.

@ClownWorld Honestly, yes children should be disclosed BEFORE the first date. Whether male or female, not everyone wants to be a parent, not everyone wants to raise another persons kids. You can’t even be mad if they say “I’ll pass”

@Big_Dreez89 DNA should be mandatory to have dad’s name on the birth certificate. Just because he’s the papered father doesn’t mean that’s his kids. Child support eligibility should only be if the father is deemed unfit. Kids aren’t paycheques.

@samelljanne1 @Simon_Ingari This isn’t on parents, it’s on what WE saw growing up. I watched my dad miss out on A LOT because of work and other “job” related things. Boomers taught millennials to give up their lives for Pennie’s and millennials taught Gen Z that there’s more to life.

@Simon_Ingari This is the problem with Gen Z. They are the only person that matters in the entire world and everyone else can just kiss off. Bow to my demands or I am done with you. Parents, this is on you.

@Simon_Ingari I don’t ask for time off, I give a notice of unavailability, employers seem to get a lot less pissy about it. Our jobs don’t run our lives and we don’t need to schedule our life on a week by week basis to please corporate. Pay us better than we will talk.
