Coaches: Are your training drills — or as I prefer, activities or movement problems — preparing athletes for real competition? “Therefore, if opponents are not present in practice environments, as is the case in many traditionally prescribed training drills, athletes will not have the opportunity to perceive and act upon the behaviors of other living, breathing individuals who are also concurrently carrying out movements in dynamic fashions.” Read the full article to find out how you can improve the design of your practice tasks and help athletes adapt their skills!   doi.org/10.1080/003362…

Louie spoke about the pitfalls of continually testing/tracking to avoid high stress and emotional states through training and, As he said, “Yes, you are maxing you, with as little emotion as possible” Same can be said if always “record, rank, and publish”. Emotional peaks and arousal levels should be controlled and rotated just like any training variable. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t track numbers, just use more as monitoring source for decisions. Record, evaluate, and adjust > record, rank, and publish
Speed & Hurdle Coach@Tier1athlete

Speed development is still sprinting. Don't need to time it. Track coaches are not timing every single sprint. Many say you must record, rank & time. That is false.

@illegalgambler kinda? He’s creating more force and it’s so much force he is able to topple the structure by taking his opponents center of mass outside his base of support

@adaptingskill Black trunks is accelerating, creating more force and is able to displace pink shorts leverage and then uses his force to re-establish hand leverage inside.

@CDonnick1 I hate it as well, but end of the day Golesh's has produced a great offense and he knows the system. As long as he does that, I think Auburn fans will be happy

@JJCrossChop so training the dip timing for a strike or tackle from advantages and disadvantages positions is where my head goes. Reverse engineer the play, create the environment for the technique to emerge, and enjoy your movement problem solving session

@JJCrossChop In the goal of trying to make individual period as representative as possible, no, there are no chutes on game day. Getting from an upright running position and dipping to create force is the name of the game. Running posture is not conducive to contact and vice versa

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Navorro Bowman using the rules as a form of block destruction. reducing the shoulder on angle, so OL cant engage w/o holding forward lean w/shoulders over torso creating enough force w/near foot "in the hoop" and getting "cleats in grass" to displace ball carriers center of mass

@AdamArchuleta @JacquezGreen good example. fighting off a resisting opponent, being able to reshape into a dominant mechanical position (dip), and tackling a realistic target (human). you can modify the angle/tackle type/etc but it looks and feels like the game of football
