What’s the point of deregulation if the government intervenes at every price increase? Is it compassionate to subsidize fuel while education, healthcare face budget deficits?

Nigerians factor will crept into all the 3 alleviation interventions as Nigerians are greedy and inconsiderate! I still think the blanket fuel subsidy(temporary till things normalize) is still better, more so now that the bulk of our internal petrol usage is from Dangote, which should be easily tracked and confirmed. Sometimes doing the right thing might be too severe to bear and may trip the naked wires in people's heads some form of compassion can ease some tension. My opinion!

Peg the price to 800-900/litre, cover the remaining cost from the overshoot crude oil revenue! Do the same for diesel. I think Cardoso and the team at CBN should let the whole oil boom momentum reflect on the Naira to ease the pressure on fuel prices. All things being equal, Naira should be close to N900/$ by now. I stand to be corrected pls.
