Dear @TunjiDisu1 @Princemoye1 @FCT_PoliceNG @PSCNigeria The unit of the @PoliceNG known for repeated misconduct is Zone 7, located in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, close to Wuse General Hospital. This unit operates as the Cybercrime Unit of the NPF. They reportedly target young men who have money in their bank accounts, raid them in hotels or homes, accuse them of fraud, arrest them, and then extort money and valuables from them. A recent case involved the extortion of ₦8,620,000 from some students from Kogi State who were staying at a hotel in Gwarinpa. I reported this case to the @PoliceNG_CRU at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, requesting that the money be refunded. However, the officers involved claim they have strong connections within the force. About five young men were arrested by approximately six police officers who allegedly broke into the hotel. The victims were taken to the Zone 7 office in Wuse Zone 3, where they were detained and threatened. They were then instructed to transfer money to a POS account presented by the officers. I have receipts showing that the payment was made to a POS operator located in front of their office. The victims were only released after paying the full ₦8,620,000. They were also warned not to report the incident, which has left them very frightened.
