AI agents are getting smarter every day. The real opportunity lies in building the trust layer they’ll need to operate confidently in the real world. I’m increasingly bullish on the infrastructure making accountable AI possible. We’ve made incredible progress in teaching machines to reason, automate, and make decisions. The next frontier isn’t just intelligence it’s trust. That’s one of the reasons @Concordium continues to stand out to me. As AI agents begin handling payments, managing digital assets, negotiating services, and making autonomous decisions, trust becomes the key to real-world adoption. People won’t rely on AI at scale unless they can verify who’s behind the actions and hold those systems accountable. An AI agent that can perform tasks is useful. An AI agent that can prove its accountability is a game changer. That’s the future I see @Concordium building. By combining protocol-level identity with privacy-preserving accountability, it enables AI agents to participate in the digital economy without sacrificing trust or compliance. Day 3/30. Today, I want to break down how the Agent Registry actually works because "protocol-level identity for AI agents" sounds good as a headline, but the real value is in the architecture underneath it. It comes down to three interlocking registries. Each one answers a different question. Together, they close the entire accountability gap. Who is this agent? The Concordium Agent Registry answers this one. Every registered agent carries a verifiable identity tied to a Concordium account, and that account is anchored to a verified human through Concordium's protocol-level identity layer. Not a claim. Not a self-reported handle. A verified link back to a real person. Who owns this agent? This is where Verified by Concordium Keys comes in. It links an agent's cryptographic signing keys back to a verified Concordium account. So, if an agent signs a transaction, VCK can prove exactly which verified entity controls that signing key. This is the piece most identity standards skip entirely: ownership at the cryptographic level, not just a name attached to a profile. What business is behind this agent? Verified by Concordium Domain Control handles this. It links web domains to Concordium accounts, so when an agent operates under a company's domain, there's a verified connection between the domain, the entity, and the agent itself. If an agent claims to represent a business, this is what actually proves it. Put those three together, and here's what you get: Anyone interacting with a registered agent can verify its identity, its owner, and the business entity responsible for it. Full transparency from block one, visible on the CCD Explorer and the Concordium ID Registry DApp. The part I find most interesting is that none of this required new infrastructure. Concordium's identity layer has been in production since the network launched. Every account was already tied to a verified identity, with zero-knowledge proofs ensuring that verification never exposed the underlying data. The Agent Registry didn't reinvent that. It extended it to a new class of participant: autonomous ones. That's the difference between building a product and building on a foundation that was already there.
