starting something i’ve wanted to do for a while.✨ a series where we go deep into “ɪɴsᴛɪᴛᴜᴛɪᴏɴᴀʟ ᴀsseᴛ ᴛᴏᴋᴇɴɪᴢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ” the why is pretty simple: trading got fast. post-trade didn’t. settlement, clearing, margining, collateral movement still runs on batch windows, cutoffs & fragmented ledgers across custodians/ccps/jurisdictions. so even when firms have good collateral, it’s often stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time. that’s how you get higher funding costs, liquidity bottlenecks, and risk that has nothing to do with the trade itself. tokenization is the upgrade path: assets + cash that can settle atomically, move in real time, and be managed programmatically. and this is exactly what @CantonNetwork is enabling: need-to-know privacy (so institutions don’t broadcast positions to the world), synchronized settlement across apps (so you can do atomic ᴅᴠᴘ without bridges), and governance that lets real market participants coordinate on shared systems. i’ll break it all down step by step with examples: what’s being tokenized today, why it matters, and what changes when collateral becomes mobile. first video dropping soon 🎥
