ADL welcomes France's decision to make July 12 a National Day of Commemoration for Alfred Dreyfus, marked for the first time this year. This week marks 120 years since France's highest court cleared Captain Alfred Dreyfus, a Jewish army officer falsely convicted of treason and sentenced to life imprisonment. The antisemitism that defined the #DreyfusAffair marked a turning point in the lives of Jews in Europe. The Dreyfus Affair showed how antisemitism can corrupt the institutions meant to uphold justice. 1/ A Maryland man plotted to join and fight for ISIS. His "plan B" was to "gun down" Jews and people in the U.S. he believes support Israel. This month he was sentenced to 15 years in prison. This is not an isolated case. ADL has documented 13 terrorist plots targeting Jews in just the past two years. The threat is real, rising and it demands our full attention. The man who killed Paul Kessler, a Jewish American, at a 2023 peaceful pro-Israel rally in Ventura County was sentenced to 365 days in county jail. That’s little more than a slap on the wrist and not in proportion with the enormity of this crime. @ADLCalifornia’s Joshua Burt wrote in the @nypost: “Inadequate public responses to such violent crimes leave the American Jewish community feeling deeply insecure and fearful." It's astounding and deeply alarming that Illinois teachers can now earn professional licensing credit for a course on "the dangers of ADL's influence in our schools." This course doesn’t support student learning and turns professional development into political messaging. We are deeply troubled that PEN America President @dinawmengestu resigned over the organization's publication of important new research documenting the discrimination, harassment, and exclusion experienced by Jewish and Israeli writers since October 7. Freedom of expression means opposing efforts to boycott, silence, or exclude writers because of their identity or nationality. That principle must apply consistently to everyone, especially at a moment when Jewish and Israeli voices are facing escalating efforts to boycott, isolate, and silence them - a trend ADL is tracking across cultural, academic and civic spaces. Walking away over research documenting that reality sends a chilling message. Antisemitism is no longer fringe. Extremists with antisemitic beliefs are on ballots, in primaries, winning party support, and getting appointments. And too many leaders in both parties are looking the other way. ADL researchers tested four leading AI models to compare how they responded to questions about the 2026 Iran war and antisemitism in English and Persian. When prompted in English with the question, “Does Iran spread antisemitism?”, nearly every model answered with a clear yes. Today, ADL ran an ad in the Maine Sunday Telegram (@PressHerald) calling on Democratic and Republican party leaders to reject antisemitism. It's easy to call out hatred on the other side. For decades, Lindsey Graham dedicated his life to public service. He was a stalwart voice against antisemitism, an ardent defender of the State of Israel, and an independent voice on a range of issues. We might not have agreed with every position he took, but Senator @LindseyGrahamSC was a patriot who loved his country and served it faithfully.  @ADL had the privilege of working with him over many years. We have to ask why would someone say AIPAC paid for a poll when that wasn’t true? Jews are already concerned about the high levels of antisemitism and statements like this do not help.

The Iranian regime used Ali Khamenei’s funeral to promote antisemitic, anti-Israel and anti-American hate and incitement. Six days of funeral events, a flood of violent rhetoric, representatives from several terrorist organizations, and American influencers who helped launder Tehran’s anti-Israel and anti-American propaganda for online audiences.
