Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants/Evangelicals, etc. often claim that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormons, share a "different gospel" and use Galatians 1:8 as a "gotcha" toward us.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
Let's also include Galations 1:9.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
The apostle Paul wrote the epistle to the Galatians. The apostle Paul also wrote to the Corinthians. Let's see in Paul's own words how he defines what the Gospel is in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sustains Paul's definition of the Gospel. Simple as.
Those who accuse us of spreading a false gospel are simply wrong or intentionally misleading others.
