I’m still seeing people who are furious about the withdrawal of winter fuel payments for all but the poorest pensioners. To help add some important context to the debate, everyone should take the time to watch this.

@ReemAmirIbrahim I wonder how many of those railing against the idea of means testing state pension plan to vote Reform UK at the next election? A party that has already talked about means testing the state pension and abolishing the NHS.

The state pension costs working-age Brits over £150 billion a year. Is it fair for young people to pay the highest tax burden in British history to fund every single pensioner? Especially when 25% are millionaires?

@SandyofSuffolk That rise for pensioners mean that more of us will pay tax as it will take us over the tax free limit. We’ll be worse off.

So people on benefits get a 6.2% rise. While pensioners who've paid into the system for 40, 50, or 60+ years only get a 4.8% rise. Socialism: rewards the feckless while the contributors suffer.

Reform wins… and still gets blocked? Drakeford says Labour, Plaid, and the Greens would join forces to shut them out. Is that democracy working? It’s like a football team finishing first, but the others team up after the final whistle to stop them getting the trophy.

@wetgaz1329 @rj_abel They can try to run a minority gov without any coalition partners if they wish. They won’t be able to pass any legislation though so it’d be fairly pointless. If Lab, Greens and Plaid could form a coalition it would represent democracy in action as they would have had more votes.

I have spent the last 24 hours reading in-depth the documents. I do not agree with euthanasia. I do not agree with making them comfortable and removing all essential medication, food and water. I do not agree with assisted dying. I do not agree with abortion. I do not agree with the morning after pill unless it is very specific situations. I do not even believe in birth-control anymore when I see what it causes down the line. I have done decades of research and hands-on experience.

I demand the same.

Last night I met Lucy Connolly and after listening to her, I’m now 100% satisfied that an injustice was served. She never pleaded guilty to any charge that had the word ‘violence’ in it, she wasn’t bailed (a magistrate that I spoke to at the same event said it was extraordinary that she wasn’t.)
