@AKasingye You raise very important points Afande. Many young people are not willing to put in the time and work. We hired a young man to support our school. He stole and ran away with 12 phones of the students. This left our school in jeopardy and the students up in arms! This was bad!

#UnpopularOpinion #191. Running a private business has taught me many lessons. It takes a lot in research & resources to start & grow your business. The challenge is, the people we bring in to run the business. Few appreciate the sacrifices made to set it up. You can imagine employing someone who chooses to abuse a HoS on a gig that isn’t simple to get. This can be the end of a that business. Who else will engage that group again? Yes, you are not happy with someone, but why choose when you are representing a business or in a company’s regalia? Yes, you will move on elsewhere. Why then do you destroy someone’s years of hard work? I have seen young people who come seeking private security jobs. First day on the job, they steal from the client leading to termination of the contract with the company or heavy compensation. Next day, they are in another company’s uniform. Most businesses don’t see their 1st birthday due to this conduct. You can’t always point to government corruption, unemployment etc, when you too are dishonest & bad hearted. Kindly stay at home or start your own business if your intention is stifling someone’s ingenuity.

I hope everyone will read Patrick Otim's @BatesCollege remarkable new book @OhioUnivPress. Here is my blurb: "With this book, Patrick William Otim becomes a leader in rethinking Uganda’s intellectual history. Drawing deeply from ethnographic and Acholi archival sources, Otim moves us beyond the political terrain of chiefs into the inner worlds of war leaders, royal messengers, public healers, poets, musicians, and aspiring historians. This work also manages to push Ugandan history writing beyond its obsession with kingdoms toward a more inclusive vision of republican history writing. Scholars and students of Ugandan and African political thought owe Otim a tremendous debt of gratitude." ohioswallow.com/9780821411469/…

REAL researches gather every Monday for writing re-treats using the pomodoro technique, named "Shut-up-and-Write". This is about sharing and planning what the goals are for writing each day and what each researcher hopes to achieve during the writing sessions.
